Week 3 - Blogs Websites Analytics Oh My !

Still being relatively new to blogging, I must say it is fun and I look forward to creating my posts. For all those who are passionate about blogging and are good at it, they receive a lot of attention. Your able to see your page views, but what if you wanted more than that?

Luckily one can apply analytics to their blog to find out more information. The analytics side will allow the blogger to see where the views are coming from, who is there audience. They can see how long people are on their site. Also what is clicked on the most, and much much more. Below is a sample for what one can expect when applying the analytics to their site or blog.

Now some may think that who cares about all of that, bloggers just want to write posts. This is not necessarily the case. A blogger who cares about their audience will really want to know more about them, like where they are from, this can create a better connection. Also they can see whats visited the most on their site, allowing them to enhance specific areas of their blog. This also comes in handy for websites that want to track the visits during campaigns or other special events taking place on the website.

Google analytics easily allows one to find out this information after setting up the program.
Long story short one has to implement a tracking code provided by Google into their site or blog. This enables Google to "talk" to the website and find out all of the information it needs.

This to me is very interesting that one can have this much power and see all the information they want pertaining to their website or blog. I will be trying to do this, and I recommend that everyone else does too. It will only enhance the potential for understanding the website and, or blog.
